Troll enablers aren't necessarily trolls. They are fond of trolls, though. For some reason, they find an ongoing discourse with trolls to be stimulating. This results in encouragement of trolls who might otherwise be isolated. Although these troll enablers may not be intentionally destructive toward the newsgroup, they often become agitated when someone suggests that they cease accommodating known trolls. Sometimes, in order to isolate the trolls, their enablers must also be isolated. But be careful! Troll enablers may become even more angry and vengeful when you threaten to ignore them.
Deciding who is and is not a troll enabler is a matter of personal judgment. I have found that filtering the following email address in MFW has substantially reduced the repartee between the trolls and those who encourage them:
