Unfortunately, the current trolls have become unusually persistent; they appear to be truly dedicated to destroying the newsgroup or forcing newsgroup discussion to conform to their preconceived ideals. Therefore, Rusty Iron will now, and for the foreseeable future, offer this FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page on methods for efficiently and effectively isolating trolls while retaining valuable and/or entertaining newsgroup discussion. The methods discussed in this FAQ are not necessarily the best methods for isolating trolls; however, I have found them to be optimal for anyone who uses the most common MS Windows newsreaders, regardless of which news server or supplementary software one may have available.
